Tell Gov. Brown: Include Oregon's largest polluters in the Climate Protection Program

Governor Kate Brown's executive order establishing the Oregon Climate Action Plan (OCAP) signed last year can help us reduce our state's carbon footprint, but not without including some of the largest climate polluters in the state.

A big part of OCAP is the Climate Protection Program, formerly known as "cap and reduce," which is intended to require the state's largest polluters to reduce their emissions and transition to clean energy. Unfortunately, the initial draft of these rules exempts fracked gas-fired power plants from needing to reduce their emissions. We need to let Governor Brown and the Department of Environmental Quality know how important it is to include fracked gas-fired power plants in the Climate Protection Program.
